Biography

Joyce was raised in Portland, Maine. Settling in Fairfield County, she taught art in Stamford, CT and Greenwich, CT public schools for over 35 years, including 29 years at the Westover Magnet School, an arts-centered magnet program. She has studied at The International School of Photography in NYC, Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, CT, and The Greenwich Art Society School of Art in Greenwich, CT.

Throughout her career she has received several awards for her paintings, collages, and street photography, and most recently was awarded Best In Show at the Pequot Library juried show, “Wet Paint,” and The Dagny A. Hultgreen Award for Oil/Acrylic at the Bendheim Gallery juried show, “Unity In Diversity.”

Her artwork is collected from Maine to California, with five of her paintings hanging in the permanent collection at Stamford Hospital. Her work has been featured in Maine Home and Design, Off The Wall Catalog, Serendipity Magazine, Maine Art Annual Guide, and Old Port Magazine.

Joyce is represented by the Portland Art Gallery in Portland, Maine, The Drawing Room in Cos Cob, CT, and the Southport Galleries in Southport, CT. In addition, she is represented online by Artcloud.com and Contemporary Art Network. Joyce is a juried member of the Loft Artists Association in Stamford, CT where she maintains her studio.
